14 Kid-friendly Attractions at Jewel Canopy Park

1. HSBC Rain Vortex: highest indoor waterfall in the world
The waterfall at Cloud Forest, Gardens by the Bay has lost its claim to fame as the HSBC Rain Vortex is now the highest indoor waterfall in the world at 40 metres high! At night it’s lit up with different coloured lights with accompanying music for hourly shows from 8:30pm to 12:30am.
NB: The Light & Sound Show is temporarily suspended until further notice

2. Shiseido Forest Valley: Indoor ‘Hiking’
As much as we love trundling through Singapore’s amazing outdoor parks it can get sweaty and is a no-go between midday and 3pm when it’s just too hot! So we love the idea of hiding away amongst the four storeys of climate-controlled landscapes of Shiseido Forest Valley during the hottest part of the day! Explore the stunning landscapes with a walk through the Shiseido Forest Valley on two different trails – Eastern and Western – past rock gardens, waterfalls and greenery including more than 900 trees and palms from around the world.

3. Canopy Park: Level 5 Jewel, Changi Airport
Open daily: 10am – 10pm (Mon to Thurs); 10am – 11pm (Fri to Sun & PH)
Price: Entrance to Canopy Park for Singapore residents is $4.50 while standard tickets are $5. Included in admission are the Topiary Walk, Discovery Slides, Foggy Bowls and Petal Gardens.

4. Discovery Slides within Canopy Park
Part art with reflective metallic sliding structures, part fun, the Discovery Slides comprises four slides (two tube slides and two surface slides) for kids to whizz down and a rope climbing structure. Don’t miss the panoramic views of the Canopy Park at its 6.5-metre high viewing platform – it’s the best spot for that stunning picture of Jewel and the waterfall.
Minimum age/heights: Children must be 110 cm tall.

5. Foggy Bowls within Canopy Park
If your little ones are obsessed with water play these little cloudy puffs of water vapour will keep them amused too. The Foggy Bowls at Jewel Canopy Park let out puffs of mist, much to kiddos’ delight.

6. Topiary Walk & Petal Garden within Canopy Park
The Topiary Walk provides some family photo ops thanks to the topiary art in the shape of life-size animals. Look out for the two friendly orangutan structures, a colourful chameleon in flower blooms, peacocks and other birds and a pink baby elephant spraying water from its trunk. Love blooms? Look out for the Petal Garden on Level 5.

7. Canopy Bridge: Stunning Views
The Canopy Bridge is a 50-metre-long bridge suspended 23 metres above ground complete with a glass floor at the centre for awesome photos! If you or the kids are scared of heights, stay away from the edges!

8. Manulife Sky Nets: Bouncing Nets and Walking Nets
If you’re fans of the suspended bouncy nets at Airzone, get ready for more bouncing in the air with these sky nets stretching 250 metres long. The nets are suspended 8 metres above the Canopy Park. To get aerial views of the wonderful landscaping and green foliage abundant at Jewel, make like Spidey and walk on the sky nets 25 metres above ground (with a clear view five storeys all the way down to the basement!). These nets are pulled taut so you can walk calmly throughout without losing your balance or bouncing, though the views are actually scarier for those who are afraid of heights.
Minimum age/heights: Children must be 110cm tall
Manulife Sky Nets – Bouncing: $19.80 adult residents/$22 standard and $14.40 child or senior residents/$16 standard (includes admission to Canopy Park).
Manulife Sky Nets – Walking: $13.50 adult residents/$15 standard and $9 child or senior residents/$10 standard (includes admission to Canopy Park)

9. Hedge Maze
Need a break from the kids? Lose them in the maze (just kidding!). But Jewel’s real Hedge Maze is Singapore’s largest hedge maze and you can keep an eye on the kids by heading to the watchtower at the centre where bird’s eye views of your kids and the maze’s intricate windings are guaranteed.
Recommended time needed: 30 minutes

10. Mirror Maze
The mirror maze offers a different perspective – instead of lush hedges, there are mirrors reflecting the foliage and you, as you take each turn to find the centre.

11. Dreamers at Shaw Theatres Jewel: Family-friendly Cinema
Shaw Theatres Jewel is Singapore’s dedicated cinema for families. The special cinema hall for families is called Dreamers and here the family-friendly features include reduced volume and softer lighting with an open space near the screens with bean bags for kids to slouch on – how fun is that? Also good to know: one child (below 90 cm in height) can enter with an accompanying paying adult for free! There are 11 halls in total with Singapore’s first IMAX Laser theatre hall here at Jewel, and an exclusive 26 seater premium hall called Lumiere.

12 Kid-friendly Restaurants at Jewel
There are tonnes of restaurants at Jewel with fare that families and especially kids, will love; burgers at Burger & Lobster as well as at and Shack Shack, casual dim sum at Tim Ho Wan and Shang Social Market and food courts on the Basement level for cheap eats plus bingsu galore at Ice Lab. Beauty in the Pot has a dedicated kids’ playground inside the restaurant and there’s also a train-themed cafe by Andersen’s of Denmark that little ones are bound to love. 13. Kids’ Shops at Jewel Canopy Park
Pokemon Centre
Asia’s first Pokemon Center outside of Japan is located here at Jewel, so if you are after Pokemon plushies and accessories go early. Look out for the touchscreen interactive Pokedex – a digital encyclopedia that will tell you all you need to know about your favourite Pokemon. Need more shopping inspo? Level 4 is also where you’ll find lots of kids’ shops: Ducks & Crafts (a DIY shop), Times Junior, and The Better Toy Store.

More Free Play Areas at Jewel
A small turf play area with low wooden structures is located next to Tim Ho Wan restaurant at #02-223. Best for toddlers.

About Jewel
Jewel is connected to Changi Airport but accessible to the public. Jewel seamlessly links Changi Airport’s T1, T2 and T3 and should take less than 20 minutes to walk for transiting passengers (although officially they say you’ll need five hours to experience Jewel if you are in transit).
Accessible from Changi Airport MRT station and parking is also available at Jewel.
