Tucked away at Gedung Kuning, there are five immersive escape room games on offer here. Each one focuses on historical Singaporean figures and themes such as the naval battle of Changi, Sang Nila Utama, Leftenan Adnan and more. This escape room at Orchard is a hit thanks to its eight, logical, solvable games. Come dressed for maximum comfort and work your way through various puzzles – solve a murder in the CSI escape room game (best for adults/teens due to the theme), capture fantastic beasts, help Gretel reclaim her phone from the dreaded witch and save your colleagues from an alien invasion aboard a spaceship. One of the first escape rooms in Singapore, The Escape Artist is affordable and lots of fun. There are three escape room games at its Harbourfront Centre outlet, where you’re the main character tasked to save yourself from a shady detention centre (Gatecrash), find your missing team and escape from the trap that’s been set for you (Night Before the Storm) or solve a decades-old murder with a little help from the past (Unknown Signal – best for adults/teens due to the theme). Prefer a little VR action? The Escape Artist also has two virtual room escape games to choose from. Some of the escape rooms may require crawling or climbing, so be sure to enquire about those requirements before booking if you have mobility issues. It’s no secret that the Singapore Discovery Centre is one of our favourite hangouts, simply because it’s a great space to learn more about Singapore’s past, present and future. But SDC is also home to one of the largest escape room experiences in Singapore – the Black Lake Facility has 13 rooms and four story chapters that promise nothing but excitement. You’ll get to crawl through tight spaces, find concealed doors, use your wits to solve clues and unravel the mysteries behind each chapter. There’s also a virtual escape room at SDC that takes you through pivotal moments in Singapore’s history.
